Mogilev Car-Building Plant in January-November increased the export of products by more than 2 times

In January-November of this year, the Joint Closed Joint Stock Company "Mogilev Car-Building Plant" increased exports of products by more than 2 times compared to the same period last year to $24.3 million. This was reported at the enterprise.

Mogilev car builders produced 2,381 freight cars in 11 months of this year, of which 333 were exported. The main importers of rolling stock are Russia and Kazakhstan. "This year, contracts have been signed for the sale of more than a thousand freight cars outside the country, but the export is somewhat constrained by the fact that we work only on the terms of prepayment," the company said.

Now the plant continues to implement the second stage of the investment project for the reconstruction, modernization of existing production and the development of unused areas. This will expand the model range of freight railcars and create technological capacities of up to 5 thousand units per year. Since the beginning of the year, more than $ 27 billion has been spent for this purpose. investments in fixed assets. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.

In September of this year, Mogilev car builders mastered and began mass production of their own car bogies. This allowed the company to partially avoid importing the main components and components and become more maneuverable, independent of Ukrainian and Russian suppliers. At the same time, the casting of complex blanks is being developed at BelAZ in parallel, but so far its capacity does not allow to meet the needs of the plant. To solve this problem and completely avoid the import of castings will allow the construction of its own foundry, which is planned to be put into operation on the territory of the FEZ "Mogilev" in 2013.

The plant has mastered the serial production of cargo gondola cars with a body volume of 78 and 90 cubic meters, mineral carriers for Belaruskali. Serial production of cement and grain carriers has recently started, and it is planned to produce timber trucks from February 2013. Currently, the development of a covered gondola car is underway. "Mastering the production of such a wide range of its own products will allow the company to feel confident in the market, respond flexibly to changing demand and significantly increase exports," experts are sure.
